Helpful to know
Before your gear arrives
Leave a little cushion on your requested delivery date so UPS lines up with shop builds, travel days, and receiving hours—not the last possible moment.
SendMyGear helps you ship bikes, luggage, and gear to partner locations with prepaid UPS labels—often using locked ship-to details so checkout stays quick. Even with accurate weights and careful packing, carrier networks can shift a day during peak weeks, regional weather, or short staffing at a hub. Building extra calendar time protects the plans that depend on your bike being ready to ride, unpack, or hand off to a mechanic. These tips apply to luggage and gear as well as bicycles.
Recommended windows
If You Are Having Your Bike Built we recommend that you select a delivery date that is at least 2 business days prior to the day you need it to avoid any delays.
If You Are Picking Your Bike Up and assembling it yourself we recommend that the delivery date you select is at least 1 business day prior to the day you need it.
How carriers count days
When you pick a delivery date in the label flow, treat it as your operational target, not a minute-perfect appointment. Most domestic services describe timing in business days, and weekends or major holidays may not count the same way weekdays do. If your travel starts on a Sunday, do not assume Saturday delivery unless the service explicitly supports weekend delivery to that ZIP. A two-day cushion before a professional build leaves room for missed scans, a receiver closed on Sunday, or a one-day re-route after a hub backlog.
Ship-to & tracking
Confirm the ship-to matches your selected partner or venue, add c/o notes if the location requires them, and keep a phone number active while the shipment is moving. Tracking updates appear as scans occur; a gap of twenty-four hours without movement is common and does not always mean the shipment is lost—it can be riding between hubs. If status stalls longer than expected, contact the carrier with the tracking number, then reach out to SendMyGear so we can help interpret timelines and next steps.
At the destination
Receiver hours matter as much as transit days. Hotels may only accept packages at the desk during set hours, and shops often prefer midweek receiving over Monday morning rush. For mixed shipments, balance weight and pad contact points so drivetrain-side loads do not press into carbon or painted surfaces. Print any prompted paperwork twice and photograph the sealed box with the label readable—useful if a claim is ever needed.
